Cultural Village adheres strictly to pandemic preventive measures ensuring safety to visitors.

The Cultural Village Foundation – Katara continued its Eid al-Adha celebrations for the second day amid a cheerful atmosphere as visitors enjoyed quality programmes while adhering to preventive measures, in line with the policies adopted by the State to prevent the spread of the coronavirus (Covid-19).

Katara kicked off its four-day Eid Al Adha celebrations yesterday with a variety of new activities in a joyful atmosphere, including virtual fireworks on its website which received several likes and comments.

Dr Khalid bin Ibrahim Al Sulaiti, General Manager Katara, expressed great pleasure on the first day of the celebration as Katara prepared new innovative activities to give children joy during these festive days, in line with the government’s plan to gradually lift the restrictions to prevent the spread of COVID-19. He also extended his congratulations on Eid Al Adha to all Katara employees appreciating their efforts to provide the best services to the visitors of the Cultural Village. 

Katara also inaugurated its new mural at the southern main entrance of Cultural Village titled “Katara thanks the healthcare professionals in Qatar.” Twelve famous fine artists created artworks with a message of gratitude and Katara’s pride for the medical front-liners in their battle against the pandemic and as models of humanitarian work around the world.

The Katara Drama Theater yesterday presented a theatrical performance titled “Went to Death” under the supervision of director and artiste Nasser Abdul Ridha featuring the participation of well-known Qatari artistes, namely Faisal Rashid, Abdullah Al Assam, Khaled Khamis, Muhammad Adel, and Ali Al Sharshani.

The Katara beach, one of the most beautiful beaches in the country, where families find a wonderful place for swimming and sport, receives visitors from 3 -10pm. The beach administration has allocated places for owners of watercrafts away from the swimming areas.

The Cultural Village has also organised a Eid al-Adha 2020 competition on Katara’s Instagram account, with questions related to the Foundation’s activities in the past years and has allocated valuable prizes. 

Furthermore, Katara organised several activities, including choosing the most beautiful costume for children. Participants have to send a photo or video of the participating child to join the contest. Katara has allocated prizes for the first five winners in the each of the two competitions namely photo or video. The photo or video should be in high quality, and Katara will own the copyright for the winning photos and videos and entitled to use them for any purpose.

The distribution of Eid gifts to cars visiting the Cultural Village brought excitement and smiles to the children visiting Katara with their families and these activities will continue over the next two days with Katara’s gifts being distributed from 5-9pm.

The Cultural Village Foundation is considered one of the main tourist destinations that both citizens and residents continue to enjoy during the on-going festivities with everything that contributes to bringing joy and happiness to the hearts of children and family members during these Eid holidays.
