Labour and Social Affairs Ministry launches platform for workers to file complaints

The Ministry of Administrative Development, Labour and Social Affairs today launcehed the first phase of the ‘Unified Platform for Complaints & Whistleblowers’, which permits the employees and workers in the private industries, as well as domestic workers, to file any labour related complaints.
This unified platform also gives access to the citizens and residents to file whistleblower complaints on general violations of the labour law. 
 
In its website, the ministry said: “It is an electronic platform through which citizens, expatriates and establishments can file a complaint against entities subject to the provisions of Qatar Labour Law No. 14 of 2004 and the Domestic Workers Law promulgated by Law No. 15 of 2017 or the entities that the Ministry of Administrative Development, Labour and Social Affairs regulates their business.”
 
The employers will be able to apply for Firm labour complaint (Qatari / non-Qatari) against establishments - Domestic workers complaint against employers - File a report of a violation in the first phase. 
The workers who wish to fill the complaints can also report any explicit violation of the Labour Law including gathering of workers, inappropriate accommodation for workers, explicit violations at the work site, etc. 
The complaints can be filed anonymously without revealing their identity.
