The activities of the 12th International Marmi Festival, under the patronage of HE Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad al-Thani, were launched yesterday at Sabkht Marmi in the Sealine area. The festival will continue until January 30. Falconers started to flock to the site from yesterday, fully enthusiastic to achieve excellent results at the various falcon hunting competitions, which will qualify them for the final matches. The participants at the festival have appreciated the efforts of Qatar Society of Al Gannas for the good organisation of the event and responding to their demands and expectations. Marmi Festival is considered one of the important features of the original Qatari culture. It presents various aspects of tradition and heritage, and this festival is aimed at reviving them among the new generations.
