MET warns of thunderstorm; issues safety tips

Qatar Meteorology Department said in its daily weather report that warning of expected thunderstorm and strong wind at some areas. Weather inshore until 6 pm on Today will be partly cloudy with a chance of scattered rain may be thundery at times and slight dust to blowing dust at places, cold by night.

Offshore, it will be shady with scattered rain possibly thundery now and again, warning of expected thunder rain with solid breeze and high ocean, report included.

Wind inshore will be southeasterly to northeasterly 10 to 20 tie gusting to 30 hitch at spots decreased to 05 to 15 tie before sun-down.

Offshore , it will be northeasterly to southeasterly 15 to 25 tie, blasting to 36 hitch now and again, winding up northwesterly 08 to 18/25 tie before supper.

Visibility will be 4 to 08/03 kilometers or less at spots now and again.

Ocean state inshore will be 2 to 4 feet, ascends to 5 feet now and again. Seaward, it will be 6 to 8 feet, ascends to 13 feet now and again.
