To curb the spread of pandemic, the Ministry of Administrative Development, Labour and Social Affairs (MADLSA) and Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME) have announced measures for limiting the chances of interaction to maintain social distancing.

This came following the decision issued by the Supreme Committee for Crisis Management to reimpose some restrictions to curb the spread of COVID-19 in the country.

The MADLSA has reduced the capacity of visitors to 30 percent to its buildings and Government Services Complexes.

“In implementation of the precautionary measures taken by the state to limit the spread of COVID-19, we would like to inform you that the Ministry reduced the capacity of visitors to 30 percent at Ministry buildings and Government services complexes,” said the Ministry on its twitter account yesterday.

The Ministry said that its several services are available online and visitors coming for those services will not be allowed to enter the premises.

People can enquire about the services and applications by calling the hotline 16008, or they can reach the Ministry through its social media pages .

The MME said on its twitter account that it has closed all play areas and equipment for physical exercises in public parks, beaches, the Corniche and has limited the gathering to 15 people as maximum to ensure the health and safety of people.

The decision came following the preventive and precautionary measures which are in place in the country and implementing the decisions of State Cabinet issued recently, said the Ministry.

The Ministry called on people to comply strictly to all COVID-19 measures like wearing face masks, carrying Ehteraz app with green status on their mobile phones when they go out from home.

In another tweet, the Ministry of Municipality and Environment urged campers to not make gathering of over 15 people in a winter camp to ensure the health and safety of visitors as per the protocol of COVID-19 in this regard.

The Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs said that (according to Islamic verdict) it is allowed to recite Holy Quran on their smart phones and electronic devices encouraging people to do so in place of using hard copy of Holy Quran from shelves of mosques to curb the pandemic. “Make sure to wear face masks during your stay in mosques and perform ‘wudhu’ at home,” the Ministry tweeted.
