Ministry calls on Qatar residents to sight Shawwal crescent

All Muslim residents in the State of Qatar are invited by the Crescent Sighting Committee at the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs to sight the crescent moon of Shawwal on Friday evening, the 29th Ramadan 1441 AH, corresponding to May 22, 2020.
The sighting of the Shawwal crescent signifies the end of the Holy month of Ramadan and the beginning of the Eid al-Fitr festival.
According to Qatar News Agency, the Ministry has released a statement today, and its Committee asked the witnesses to head to the its headquarters in Al Dafna to report their testimony.
The officials are set to meet immediately after the Maghreb prayer.
