The Ministry of Administrative Development, Labor and Social Affairs (MADLSA) began an immediate investigation into the incident of late payment of wages for a number of expatriate workers who gathered yesterday, in coordination with the competent authorities, Qatar News Agency reported today.

MADLSA has taken steps to ensure that all salaries will be promptly paid in the coming days. 

The Administrative Development Ministry reminds all employers that it has distributed clear instructions to companies on their legal obligations during the coronavirus pandemic (Covid-19). Any company found violating these obligations will be penalised in line with Qatar’s Labor Laws.

The Ministry pointed out that legal action has been taken against the companies involved for violating the Wage Protection System (WPS).
