Ministry issues clarification on QNCC rumor about vaccination drive

Doha: The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) clarified that it is not accurate what is being circulated on social media regarding the possibility of receiving a vaccine for Covid-19 for anyone who wants to go to the Qatar National Convention Center (QNCC) vaccination center.
To ensure public safety and the smooth and efficient conduct of the vaccination process, the Ministry affirmed that intimations for vaccination will be sent progressively and in stages where, during the current stage, the targeted vaccination community will receive a short text message inviting them to arrive at the vaccination center on specific dates.
MoPH also suggested that only those who got an intimation would receive the vaccine. Others are expected to wait until an invitation via SMS is received.
The Ministry also urged all community members to obtain news and information from official sources, through the ministry’s website, and its accounts on social media.
