Ministry of Interior Wins Gold Award of Digital Excellence

The Ministry of Interior won the Gold Award for Metrash2 app. This award is given to the best government digital application for smart devices in terms of content, service, usage, design, functionality, app access, and user experience. This was announced during a ceremony organized by the Ministry of Transportation and Communications on Monday 12/21/2020 at the St. Regis Doha Hotel to announce the Qatar Digital Excellence Awards in the government sector. The event was attended by HE the Minister of Transport and Communications Jassim Saif al-Sulaiti, and a number of senior government officials. The award for the Ministry of Interior was received by Brigadier Abdul Rahman Ali Al-Farahid Al-Maliki, Assistant Director General of Information Systems.
The ceremony also included the graduation of the new batches of the Qatar Digital Government Training Program that stems from the Qatar Digital Government strategy. The second batch, 17 graduates, of the Chief Technology Officers (CTO) Training Programme and the third batch, 28 graduates, of the IT Talent Training Programme were honored. Several employees of the Ministry of Interior also participated in the program.
On the occasion of the Ministry of Interior’s victory, Brigadier Abdul Rahman Al-Maliki said that the Ministry of Interior won the Gold Award for Metrash2 in terms of use and the facilities of completing direct transactions without the need to visit the Ministry’s service departments or any security center. The Ministry of Interior is proud that Metrash2 app has been winning many awards for mobile applications for ten consecutive years, due to its ease of use and the availability of large number of services in it.
He added that other services will be added with Metrash2 in the near future. He pointed out that the Qatar Digital Government has provided the required training for government agencies, which contributes to raising the level of employees' skills in the field of computer usage and information systems. The training program also provided them with leadership skills related to electronic systems and solving electronic problems that help them perform their work in the future.
