Ministry prohibits repair works in cities and on commercial streets

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MOCI), in a Tweet, stated that the regulations must be maintained by auto repair workshops and has banned them from doing repair work in cities and on commercial streets.

MOCI on its twitter account said that, “#MOCIQATAR in cooperation with the Ministry of Municipality & Environment and the Ministry of interior, announces initiative to regulate car maintenance and repair shops in cities and on commercial streets.”

• To carry out its business and activities outside the site of the license granted to it, in public places, sidewalks, adjacent squares, or between residential neighbourhoods.

• In the event that the area of the commercial store does not allow for the entry of at least one car, its location should be changed and once the licensed stores are moved to the designated areas, the activities can be practiced.

• It is forbidden to place and park customers ’cars in public parking, on the sidewalks, or between residential neighborhoods, and must commit to handing over cars to customers upon completion of their repair.

The Ministry also said that the decision includes the following activities:

1. Auto electrical repair

2. Auto oil change

3. Car Seat Upholstery

4. Auto Computer Programming

5. Repair and change and sale of tires

6. Auto engine repair

7. Radiator repair

8. Auto brakes repair

9. Auto Air Conditioning Repair

10. Auto Accessories Installation

11. Sell Car Accessories

12. Auto glass repair

13. Auto electronics repair

14. Auto balancing
