Ministry Starts Road Patrol Around Qatar to Prevent Gathering

The Ministry of Interior (MoI) has started patrolling today, March 23, to prevent all kinds of gathering around Qatar to limit the spread of coronavirus (Covid-19).



Colonel Hassan Mohamed Ghaith Al Kuwari, Director of Central Operations Department at the National Command Center at the Ministry of Interior said " The Supreme Committee for Crisis Management has initiated patrolling across the country." He further added " Gathering is not allowed at any area in the country. Corniche, Public Parks and Beaches are under high monitoring."

Violators will face legal charges. It is mandatory for all people in Qatar to adhere to the policy.

“All kinds of the gathering are forbidden, whether they are social gatherings or others, they are prohibited during this period. I advise all brothers to cancel meetings in their homes “majlis” temporarily,” said Al Kuwari.

On its regulation to prohibiting more than one person in the same vehicle, MoI clarified that transportation by cars, buses or trucks are exempted provided it is for necessary purpose.
