Ministry to provide available remote housing services in the future

As part of the latest developments in the prevention of coronavirus (Covid-19) spread in Qatar, a campaign to spread awareness on the benefits of online services is underway. This initiative aims to encourage the use of these services and direct the public to use the remote services of the Ministry of Administrative Development, Labor and Social Affairs (MADLSA).
Mr. Nasir Mihanna Al Mannai, director of the Citizens Housing Department of MADLSA said that an underway work on providing all available remote housing services in the future, developing integrated database related to housing and reviewing the annual goals of the Department is being considered.
He added that the greatest difficulties the government is facing is that some people lack the knowledge of online applications. He also stated that the MADLSA received 602 online services from March 18 to May 5 2020.
According to the director, the housing loan, building permits and demolition requests have been the most sought-after services.
The Ministry stressed that 20 customers were received daily in line with the precautionary measures. It has provided protective devices including sanitizers, gloves and masks for employees. It also conducted remote meetings through its various electronic platforms. Furthermore, it has provided qualified researchers to respond to complaints and queries from the community.
The official disclosed that considering a large segment of users is mindful of the need to maintain social distancing and stay at homes in the light of the current situation, the Citizens Housing Department has seen a huge increase in requests submitted online and number of phone calls via the hotline from the public.
