MME to install additional air quality monitoring stations
MME is working to establish 10 more air quality monitoring stations in Qatar, with the aim of ensuring high-quality air throughout the country.

Air quality control stations are being set up at all stadiums and venues for the FIFA World Cup 2022, according to Al Khulaifi.

According to him, existing stations are being renovated, and plans are in the works to construct new stations to serve the whole region as part of Qatar National Vision 2030's fourth pillar, which is focused on environmental conservation and sustainability.

He noted that, as a result of the country's rapid development in numerous manufacturing, economic, and social fields, there are recognized challenges related to rapid population growth, urban development, and megaprojects, which necessitated state intervention by putting forward tremendous efforts to preserve air quality.

The Ministry of Municipality and Environment recently upgraded four air quality monitoring stations by installing high-tech equipment for air quality monitoring.

More stations will be built and linked to the network to monitor air quality in accordance with the national natural air requirement. The proposal is being enforced in accordance with Law No. 30 of 2002, which aims to protect the environment while still complying with international laws and regulations.

The fourth pillar of Qatar National Vision 2030, ensuring air quality, has been improved by calculating pollutant concentrations in the surrounding air with high precision and determining the sources of contaminants.
