The Ministry of Public Health (MOPH) has emphasized that its memorandum “in no way prevents doctors from using social medias”.

In its official twitter account, MOPH said that, “We actually encourage and support doctors to use different social media platforms to talk about medical topics related to their specialties.”

In a statement the ministry said that, “However, the memorandum is designed to remind all doctors in Qatar that no unauthorized for use devices or equipment should be advertised in Qatar, that their social media platforms should not be used to advertise non-medical products or services, and that no confidential patient information or data should be shared.”

MOPH issued a circular and sent its copy to all the health practitioners and health-care facilities across the country.
