The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) has urged all members of society to continue to adhere to the preventive methods imposed in the country due to the global epidemic caused by coronavirus (Covid-19) while applauding the community's dedication to applying these measures and restrictions, which has started to result fruitfully.

On the occasion of the annual celebration of Garangao, which falls on the night of Ramadan 15, MoPH has stated the need to continue following the precise procedures and adhere to the Covid-19 precautionary measures enforced in Qatar.

MoPH also highlighted that the pandemic is still at its peak and there are various infections, hospital and intensive care admissions daily, and many deaths taking place. Hence, it is very vital to continue to follow the measures enforced in the region such as avoiding meeting outsiders, maintaining physical distancing, and parties except for the members of the same household or no more than five fully vaccinated people in the public arenas during this period of anxiety and pandemic.

The ministry affirmed that the children's celebration of this heritage occasion will be different this year in view of the current restrictions imposed to curb the further spread of Covid-19 due to the continuation of the measures with regards to the deadly disease.

MoPH also urged all community members not to permit their kids to move from one house to another, as usual, as this would help in combating the virus, and contribute to exposing children and their families to the risk of coming in contact with Covid-19, especially due to new variations from UK and South Africa seen in Qatar.
