The Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs has said that the mosques will open 20 minutes before second call for prayer for Friday prayer starting from this Friday until further notice.

“Within the framework of continuous coordination between the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs and the Ministry of Public Health, and following up on the latest developments in public health indicators and in accordance with the procedures and measures taken to address the COVID-19 pandemic, it was decided to open the doors of mosques to receive worshipers for the Friday sermon and prayer, 20 minutes before the second call to prayer,” the ministry said in a tweet.

The ministry also decided to increase the number of mosques designated for Friday prayer, especially in crowded areas.

The ministry urged all worshipers to fully cooperate with the authorities in charge of supervising mosques, while adhering to the precautionary measures, the most important of which is keeping the windows of mosques open, and the rest of the precautions.
