Nearly 6000 unused vehicles removed this year in Qatar

The Joint Committee for Removing Abandoned Vehicles removed nearly 6,000 vehicles that were unused this year.
The Head of General Monitoring Section at Doha Municipality Hamad Sultan Al Shahwani said: “Over 10,000 abandoned vehicles have been marked and about 6,000 of them have been removed since January 2021 till now from different municipalities.”
 
Al Shahwani, a member of the Joint Committee for Removing unused or abandoned Vehicles in the region, was speaking at a fresh campaign to remove all the unused vehicles launched at Al Wakra Municipality yesterday.
Al Shahwani stated that, “The campaign, launched by the committee, will continue for two weeks until the removal of all abandoned vehicles which were marked to remove across Al Wakra Municipality.” 
He said that this is 8th campaign implanted by the Committee under its action plan for removing abandoned vehicles for 2021.
“The campaign for this year began from Al Shamal. Then it move to Al Khor and Al Zakhira, Al Daayen, Umm Salal and Al Sheehaniya. Now, the campaing began in Al Wakra which will continue till the removal of all marked abandoned vehicles across Al Wakra Municipality,” Al Shahwani added. 
He also mentioned that after Al Wakra Municipality, the campaign will move to Industrial Area where large number of unused vehicles were noticed.
