The Qatar Calendar House (QCH) has announced that according to accurate astronomical calculations by its astronomers the new Crescent of the Hijric month "Shawwal 1441 H" will be born on the evening of Friday, May 22, 2020 G at 08:39 Pm Doha local time (05:39 Pm GMT).

Dr. Beshir Marzouk "Astronomer expert at QCH", said that it is impossible to see or observe the Shawwal crescent on Friday evening with the naked eye or astronomical instrumentations in the skies of Qatar and all countries of the Arab and Islamic region, because the new crescent of Shawwal this year will be born after sunset of monitoring day (Friday).

The legal decision of the advance of Shawwal remains within the competence of the Moon Sighting Committee of the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs in Qatar.  

The time set of the Moon over Qatar sky on Friday, May 22, 2020, will be at 06:02 Pm, while the sunset time will be at 06:16 Pm Doha local time.
