NHRC concludes Second Phase of Human Rights Training Program

The National Human Rights Committee (NHRC), jointly in cooperation with the Arab Institute for Human Rights, has concluded the second level of the training program on human rights for law enforcement personnel in different parts of the country.
The training program, which will commence and continue during this year, and the third phase of it will be carried out in the second half of 2021, aims to support participants' knowledge and skills in the areas of human rights to develop their role in protecting these rights in line with relevant national legislation and international human rights law.
The National Human Rights Committee is working, in coordination with the Arab Institute for Human Rights, to enhance an annual training program and the contents of training courses and workshops.
The training team at the Arab Institute for Human Rights undertakes scientific supervision of the program and determines the trainers staff in proportion to the training needs.
The Director of Programs and Education Department at the National Human Rights Committee Mubarak Al Safran, emphasised that the National Committee needs to obtain technical support for the program and it communicates with official institutions and the target groups of the training program in the State of Qatar to make sure that their participation is seen in the training courses.
 
He also highlighted that the target groups of the training program are officers in the Police College, judges, and employees of the prison administration, according to the work program agreed upon with the Arab Institute for Human Rights.
He explained that this program involves in organizing a series of general and specialized workshops and training courses that takes into account the human rights needs of the beneficiaries, pointing out that during the first half of this year, a workshop and two training sessions will be presented, as the first workshop was presented in late January.
Al Safran also added that in the second phase of the training program, a group of attendees in the two general sessions will be selected to participate in the specialized courses according to their fields of areas and specialties.
