No contact sports or group activities permitted on NSD

People advised to fully comply with all the Covid-19 precautionary measures and strictly follow the MoPH protocol for the wellbeing of and good health of all concerned.
 
In a statement issued yesterday, the Ministry of Culture and Sport and the Qatar National Sport Day (NSD) organising committee said this year’s National Sports Day will feature only individual and outdoor sports activities with a maximum of four participants allowed at a time.
 
There will be no group activities or contact sports during this and moreover, it is not allowed to hold any activities inside closed halls, the organisers said in an official statement.
 
A Qatar News Agency statement further added that the Sport Day committee has called on all State institutions in the country not to hold NSD activities in places where there could be crowding, 
 
Furthermore, the National Sport Day in co-ordination MoPH has decided that all conditions and requirements announced on January 26 have been amended based on public health indicators to avoid any further spread of Covid-19 and ensure the safety of all concerned.
 
NSD activities will feature only individual and outdoor sports activities with a maximum of four participants allowed while adhering to all physical distancing of at least 3 meters as per the guidelines issued.
 
Group activities and sports are not allowed where there is a possibility of contact and close proximity among the players and where it is not possible to maintain the minimum required physical distance, the statement added.
 
The committee has also urged people to fully comply with the Covid-19 precautionary and preventive measures and strictly follow the MoPH protocol, stressing the importance of safely practising sports for the wellbeing of people and good health of all concerned.
