No Earthquake in Qatar Today: Qatar Meteorological Dept. Denies Earthquake Rumors on Social Media

"No truth to the rumors circulating regarding an earthquake in Qatar today," said Qatar Meteorological Department (QMD) on Twitter.
It furthered encouraged the public to follow the news and information from official sources and its social media accounts.
News about earthquake in the country swiftly surfaced online, adding some sources as proofs, which in truth are only previous reports of earthquakes.
Earlier, national authorities have warned the public that anyone caught spreading false news will face a serious offence and will be subject to public prosecution.
