No masks: 174 people in Qatar face action for not wearing masks

In line with the cabinet decision based on Law No. 17 of 1990 regarding infectious diseases, 174 people were referred to the Public Prosecution for non-compliance with wearing masks in places where they are mandatory.

— Ministry of Interior (@MOI_QatarEn) January 24, 2021The competent authorities call on the public to adhere to the precautionary and preventive decisions in force to protect them and others from the spread of the Coronavirus (Covid-19) in society.
MoI reiterated the importance of following the precautionary and preventive decisions in force to control the spread of Covid-19. The Ministry and health authorities have been continuously warning public to follow precautionary measures such as:
• wearing of face masks
• following social distancing
• restricting number of people in vehicles
Till now 6,856 people have been referred to the Public Prosecution for not wearing masks and 277 people for not following the limit of people inside a vehicle, which is specified as 4 including the driver, except for the members of the same family.
