By keeping the cleanliness spirit within, the volunteers also planted some trees.

The event was part of Ooredoo’s ongoing initiative that aims to achieve complete cleanliness of beaches, archaeological sites and tourist spots, in partnership with local entities.

The event was attended mostly by the representatives from Ooredoo and the MME as the numbers had to be restricted due to the current social distancing guidelines.

Sabah Rabiah al-Kuwari, director of PR at Ooredoo, said: “We’re proud to be working with the Ministry of Municipality and Environment as part of our corporate social responsibility commitment to sustainability. We all have a responsibility to protect the environment and a duty to ensure we never leave trash behind; imagine what we could achieve if each of us gave just a few minutes of our time to clean up any mess? We were delighted to see our Ooredoo volunteers giving up their time at the weekend for the benefit of our beautiful country and its citizens and residents, and we look forward to many more such events in the future.”
