Ang Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME) ay naglunsad ng tree planting event alinsunod sa adhikain nitong makapagtanim ng isang milyong puno sa Qatar.

Isa ang Embahada ng Pilipinas sa Qatar sa mga nakilahok sa nasabing kaganapan.

Pinangunahan ng Philippine ambassador to Qatar na si Alan L Timbayan ang pagtanim kasama ang ilan pang opisyal ng embahada. Pinaunlakan din ang event ni Fahd Mohamed al-Kaabi, head of the gardens section sa Al Daayen Municipality, municipality staff at community members.

Iniimbitahan ng MME ang lahat ng institutions, bodies, at individuals na mag-register, mag-contribute at mag-volunteer sa nabanggit na initiative.

Paalala: Ang registration ay may angkop na financial support, in-kind support, o practical participation. Kailangang bumili ng seedling depende sa bilang na nais niyo.

Ayon sa MME, mahalagang makilahok sa initiative na ito dahil layunin nitong mapangalagaan ang environmental system. Dagdag pa ng Ministry na malaki ang ambag ng campaign na ito sa human health at quality of life.

Action Plan

The Initiative released by, the Prime Minister and the Minister of Interior, Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani, on the sidelines of Qatar's First International Environmental Exhibition, March 2019, aims at achieving the below objectives:

- Promote biodiversity

- Take advantage of treated water for irrigation

- Improve air quality

- Increase the green patch

- Reduce gas emissions
