QA’s Doha-Milan service to launch new Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner today

Qatar Airways will launch its new Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner passenger aircraft, featuring its eagerly awaited new Business Class Suite, on several key routes to Europe and Asia, starting with its Doha to Milan service today.

The ultramodern aircraft is scheduled for services from Doha to Athens, Barcelona, Dammam, Karachi, Kuala Lumpur, Madrid, and Milan and has 311 seats - 30 Business Class Suites and 281 seats in Economy Class.

The new Business Class Suite sets yet another industry standard with a uniquely private experience for premium passengers travelling with us, which is becoming increasingly valuable during this pandemic, while showcasing Qatar Airways’ 5-star standards of excellence and Qatari hospitality that are quintessential on all of our flights.

– Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive, His Excellency Mr. Akbar Al-Baker

Introducing the new Business Class Suite

While it is not the QSuite product, the new Business Class Suite offers a number of improvements to the premium cabin on board. Based on the Adient Ascent platform, seats deliver a contemporary design that is truly personal, spacious and functional, allowing travelers to relax in a private sanctuary thanks to the sliding door for privacy.

The 1-2-1 herringbone layout for the 30 seats in the business class cabin offers direct aisle access for all passengers as well. Passengers seated in adjoining center suites can slide the privacy panels away at the touch of a button to create their very own enclosed private space.

The Business Class Suite transforms to a 79″ bed. It also features a dedicated mobile phone holder featuring wireless charging technology.

A large entertainment screen and Qatar Airways’ fabled in-flight dining menu further enhance the business class travel experience on board.

Economy upgrades, too

The economy class cabin consists of 281 Recaro seats that exemplify the latest design and technology. Each seat is equipped with a 13-inch Panasonic IFE touch screen in addition to a personal electronic device holder for both mobile and iPad devices. The company also promise the ability for economy class passengers to pair their personal Bluetooth headphones with the on-board seatback IFE system.

In addition to the Milan route, Qatar Airways anticipates the 787-9 will serve Athens, Barcelona, Dammam, Karachi, Kuala Lumpur, and Madrid.
