Qatar Airways has faith in Boeing planes

Qatar Airways has full confidence in Boeing aeroplanes and intends to take delivery of the remaining fifteen it has on order, according to the airline’s Chief Executive Officer.

Talking to the media, Akbar Al Baker, Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO) of Qatar Airways said: “We are still to receive 15 737 MAX. I know Oman Air has grounded its MAXs and so have we.

However, we have confidence in Boeing airplanes and we are sure that they will resolve the issue which is currently under investigation.” On March 12, Oman’s Public Authority for Civil Aviation decided to suspend all Boeing 737 MAX planes operating into and out of the country’s airports until further notice. The news came in the wake of two fatal crashes in the space of a few months involving MAX jets. One involving the Indonesian low cost airline, Lion Air and the other involving Ethiopian Airlines. Both crashes claimed the lives of all people on board. “We have huge confidence in Boeing’s products. As yet, there is no detailed assessment or any results from the Flight Data Recorder analysis, so we really don’t know what exactly happened.”

“As far as I am concerned, the aircraft will get back to the skies soon and Boeing will get to the bottom of what happened. And, if there is something technical wrong, they will find a fix for it.”

“We should wait for the analysis of the FDR to be fully revealed before we can conclude what went wrong.”
