Qatar Airways Offers Passengers 'Future Travel Vouchers'

'Future travel vouchers' are now being offered by Qatar Airways to passengers affected by changes in its flight operations due to safety measures being taken worlwide against coronavirus (COVID-19).

 

 

Passengers can avail of a future travel voucher with one year validity from its issuance date. On Monday, Qatar’s national airline announced that they can also have their tickets be refunded or re-booked to alternative dates or destinations free of charge.

Qatar's national carrier said in its official website, “Because of the operational challenges faced due to COVID-19 (coronavirus) we have altered or cancelled some of our services. If you are affected, you can re-book your ticket to alternative dates or destinations, or opt to receive a voucher for future travel, valid for one year from its issuance date. This policy applies to all tickets issued anytime until June 30, 2020, for travel on or before the same date.”

For those who who have booked ticket in travel agencies, they can can contact them to rebook their flights or avail of a future travel voucher. The same applies to passengers who booked via qatarairways.com or through any of its offices, only they have to contact Qatar Airways contact centres.

The 5-star global airline added, “If your flight is operating normally and you have booked or are planning to book tickets for travel up to June 30, 2020, but you wish to change your travel plans, you can alter your travel date free of charge, or exchange your ticket for a future travel voucher valid for one year, up to 3 days prior to departure. This includes award flights.”

All inbound flights to Doha had been suspended for 14 days as announced by the Government Communications Office (GCO) on Monday. Qatar Airways passengers who have onward connections through Hamad International Airport will be accepted for travel. The airline's global network will resume its service for transit passengers.

According to the airline, passengers from all destinations covered by Qatar Airways can still travel and transit through HIA, subject to entry restrictions at their final destination.
