Qatar Airways Returns to Zagreb, Croatia from July 1

  • 4 years   ago

Croatian Aviation reports that Qatar Airways, the state-owned Qatari airline, will operate on a direct route between Doha and Zagreb from July 1.

Qatar Airways has been operating on the Doha - Zagreb route since May 2012, initially operated with a stop in Budapest, but with the development of demand, the company launched a direct line between the two cities, and since then only increases the number of flights and capacity on the route to the Croatian capital.

Until the coronavirus outbreak, the line operated twice a day, in the morning and in the afternoon, mainly with narrow-body aircraft type A320 and A321.

Due to weak demand and international restrictions, and in order to prevent the spread of the virus, the line has been suspended, and the company will renew it from July 1.

The line will be in traffic only three times a week, on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, with an afternoon departure from Zagreb. A320 aircraft with a capacity of 144 passengers have been announced on the route.

As the company resumes traffic to other destinations, passengers will be able to travel from Zagreb to numerous destinations in Asia, Australia and Oceania.

The return of Qatar to Zagreb is certainly an addition to the tourist season, given that these flights will provide a very simple connection to distant destinations from which we have been growing the number of visitors for years.

As we wrote earlier, the new Qatar Airways line between Doha and Dubrovnik has been completely canceled for this year and the company plans to launch it in the 2021 summer season.

Croatian Aviation also reports that Eurowings announced its flight schedule for July. We remind you that this airline was among the first to re-establish traffic to Croatian airports.

The company already operates from German airports to Zagreb, Pula, Rijeka, Zadar and Split, and from July it will increase the number of weekly flights on many routes to Croatia.
