Qatar and Oman qualifies for the 5th edition of International School Debating Championship

The Sultanate of Oman team and the State of Qatar team has qualified for the final after the qualifiers for the fifth International Schools Debating Championship in Arabic and English, which was conducted by the QatarDebate Center.
The debating tournament was conducted remotely under the slogan “Our Earth, Our Refuge.”
The results committee declared the qualified teams for the final for the Arabic language and non-native speakers. After the quarter-final round announcement for the qualified teams, the first issue for the first round for non-native Arabic speakers was announced. According to the draw, Turkey was the proposing team against Mauritius team opposition, while Thailand was proposition against Malaysia opposition.
The issue of the first round for this classification was “This council believes that developing countries should privatize state-owned companies” like airlines, railways, and service companies. The Turkish and Malaysian teams encountered in the Arabic language for non-Arabic speakers for the tournament title in the following issue: “This council will grant immunity to drug gang members in exchange for ceasing violence in conflict areas.”
 
The eight teams from the open category who came face to face in the semi-finals were Libya and Kuwait/Singapore and Qatar/Sudan and Pakistan/ Oman and Tunisia.
Winning for the open category was Kuwait, Qatar, Oman and Sudan and moving to the semi-finals in the following issue: “This council will link the value of fines and violations to the individual’s income.” Kuwait will debate against Oman, and Qatar will debate against Sudan’.
South Africa qualified for the semi-finals - against their rivals, the Hong Kong team, and the Sri Lanka team debated against the Philippines team in the following issue: “This council regrets celebrating members of marginalised communities who have reached positions of authority”.
