Qatar and UK tie up to discuss cooperation in food security, environment protection

In cooperation with the British Embassy, the Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME), represented in the Agricultural Research Department organized a series of (remote) meetings with the participation of the departments of the MME agricultural and environmental sectors and the think tanks of the Department of environment, food, and rural affairs in the UK.

Meetings held from 05-07 October, were co-chaired by Dr. Mai Al-Ghanem from the Department of Agricultural Research and Dr. Catherine Callahan, Senior consultant at the British Department of environment, food, and rural affairs.

During the meetings, several issues of mutual concern to UK and Qatar were discussed, with a view to promote cooperation and exchange experiences in the areas of food security, organic agriculture, and protection of humans and animals, in addition to chemical safety and climate change, etc.

 

Meetings also aimed at the organization of training courses and workshops and the exchange of information and visits between the two parties.
