Qatar Cabinet approves QFCRA Board of Directors renewal, reviews COVID-19 measures

Qatar Cabinet has approved the renewal of the Board of Directors at the Qatar Financial Centre Regulatory Authority (QFCRA), effective March 8 of 2021.

HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz al-Thani chaired the Cabinet's weekly meeting held at its seat at the Amiri Diwan on Wednesday.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Cabinet also specified the remuneration of the board members.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Cabinet listened to the explanation provided by HE Minister of Public Health on the latest developments to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19).

The Cabinet then affirmed the continuation of work with regard to the precautionary measures against the COVID-19 pandemic.

It also approved a draft memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the governments of Qatar and Morocco in the field of endowments and Islamic affairs.

 

After that, the Cabinet considered the following topics on the agenda:

1. Approval of the renewal of the Board of Directors at the Qatar Financial Centre Regulatory Authority (QFCRA) starting from March 8 of 2021, and specified the remuneration of the board members.

2. Approval of a draft memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the governments of Qatar and Morocco in endowments and Islamic affairs.

3. Review and decision on the following topics:

• Results of the third meeting of the General Assembly of the Islamic Organisation for Food Security (IOFS).

• Results of the 67th session of the World Health Organisation's (WHO) Regional Committee for the Eastern Mediterranean.
