Qatar Chamber updates ‘Labour Re-employment Platform’

Qatar Chamber, in collaboration with the Ministry of Administrative Development, Labour and Social Affairs (MADLSA), has updated and improved its ‘Labour Re-employment Platform’.

The online platform launched by the Qatar Chamber in July to facilitate re-employment of skilled workers has been updated.

The platform has been developed and updated to be an inclusive electronic gateway which is available for all companies, a joint statement said.

The update includes setting up an electronic link between the Ministry and the Chamber to further streamline the platform.

According to this update, companies that are looking for hiring new employees can login to the platform via the following linkhttps://jobs.qatarchamber.com/ar/

Then, the company will receive an email to activate the registration and after that it can login to fill in the required information. The application will be then “under review”.

Meanwhile, the application will be forwarded to the labour ministry, which will verify the company’s data to see if it has any violations related to labour affairs. If there are no violations, the status of the application will change to ‘”approved’ and thereby the company will be able to review resumes of candidates to select the appropriate employment.

After the company shortlists candidates, it will receive a link to accomplish procedures of changing the workplace.

Following the completion of the procedures with the labour ministry and the transfer of employment to a new company, the ministry will notify the Chamber of the names of the workers who have moved o a new company to remove them from the platform.

In case of the application is rejected due to violations made by the company, an email will be sent to the company stating the reason of disapproval and requesting the company to solve any issues so that it can benefit from the platform.

It is noteworthy that the labour platform aims to help companies obtain appropriate employment and ensure the continuity of projects and businesses in the local market.

It also aims at helping companies find skilled labourers through contracting with laid-off or redundant workers from other companies, thus avoiding any shortage of labourers that may cause the failure of projects of these companies.

Since its inception a few months ago, the platform saw a large turnout from companies that are in search for new employment in the private sector, as more than 1300 companies have registered in the platform to date.

A joint committee between the Chamber and the Ministry supervises and facilitates the work of the platform to achieve its objectives of helping companies obtain appropriate employment and maintaining skilled labour in Qatar as well as re-employment of labourers within the local market.
