Qatar Charity concludes first phase of ‘Tamkeen’ program

Qatar Charity (QC) concluded the first phase of ‘Tamkeen’, an integrated training program offered remotely via its social media accounts. It kicked off in October to enhance the economic, social and psychological skills of individuals, under the auspices of Etlaqq Business Management and Bedaya Centre.

The first phase of the program included 6 different types of training workshops to enhance and develop the necessary practical skills contributing to transforming the ideas of individuals into successful commercial projects that will add economic value to society.”

Some 45 persons attended the workshops. The final projects included eight participations, of which four projects were qualified, and will be sponsored by Etlaqq Business Management and Bedaya Centre.

The program targets individuals with ideas and small projects, and those in need of training to enter the market, in addition to those affected by the Covid-19 pandemic and those willing to have a project that ensures a steady source of income for a more stable life.

Speaking at the closing ceremony of the first phase of the program, Jassim Mohamed al-Emadi, director of the Local Development Department at Qatar Charity, thanked the sponsors and participants.

“The ‘Tamkeen’ program aims to enable people to have the opportunities ensuring that they led a stable and happy life at all levels, in support of Qatar National Vision 2030 and Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations, in addition to achieving community partnership with several state institutions," said al-Emadi.

He also announced the continuation of the program in next phases according to the plan, noting that the second phase would include job seekers and people with special needs in cooperation with the concerned authorities and community partners, aiming at providing these people with a sustainable source of income.

Dr Latifa al-Darwish, CEO and co-founder of Etlaqq Business Management, thanked Qatar Charity for launching the program, which managed to prepare ready-to-start projects in Qatar by providing the basics needed by entrepreneurs in the labor market.

Al-Darwish congratulated the owners of the qualified projects, noting that the program provides the necessary requirements for the project to enter the Qatari market.

Ahmed Al-Sayegh, Director of Entrepreneurship, Bedaya Center, said the ‘Tamkeen’ program helps individuals to launch their commercial projects, and trained 45 participants by developing their business idea.

The participants learned the basics of entrepreneurship, working on the commercial model, marketing and financial matters, thus they became fully aware of how to launch their own business, Al-Sayegh noted.

 

The program included 6 training workshops, which are ‘procedures for establishing a project, business model, visual identity, how to prepare a marketing plan for your project, fix the price of your product or service, and accounting’.
