Qatar Charity helps workers this Ramadan by distributing 12,000 Iftar meals daily

“Calm Your Heart by Giving,” is a Ramadan campaign initiated by the Qatar Charity (QC) with the support from the people in Qatar.
The program aims to distribute Iftar meals to workers within the country. A total of nearly 24,000 workers including 3000 workers in quarantine have already benefitted from the meal distribution during the first two days of the holy month of Ramadan.
Here are the locations across the State of Qatar, which are the recipients of the campaign:

4. Umm Salal Ali
5. Umm Salal Muhammad
6. Al-Ruwais
7. Umm Lakhba
8. Al-Jumayliyah
9. Al-Ghuwairiya
10. Al-Azab (form) complex
11. Al-Hilal
12. Airport Area
13. Al-Gharafa
14. Fareej Abdul Aziz
15. Al-Ghanem
16. Ain Khalid
17. Al-Rayyan
18. Al-Salaya
19. Muaither
The said meal project amounts to QR4,266,000, and is expected to benefit 213,300 workers.
Following precautionary measures due to the recent coronavirus outbreak, the Iftar meals are being distributed to worker by car.
The mobile Iftar for the workers will resume on the next period, including the distribution of 20,000 food baskets. Each basket will contain basic foodstuff sufficient for a worker for the month of Ramadan. The project is valued at QR4,000,000.
The Iftar projects implemented within Qatar also includes the following:
• A mobile Iftar, which involves the distribution of 21,000 Iftar snacks in various places to drivers who are not able to reach their homes to break their fasting.
• The ‘Ramadan Supply’ project, which provides essential foodstuffs for the month of Ramadan to families with limited income, the families of orphans and widows through the distribution of coupons by Qatar Charity. It targets 28,000 people with a value of QR3,360,000.
• Distribution of:
- Iftar meals and food baskets for workers
- Ramadan supplies for families with limited income
- Social assistance
- Aid for those affected by the coronavirus disease
Qatar Charity's Ramadan projects in the country target 420,900 persons at a cost of QR34,029,352.
