Qatar Charity Honors Winners of "Future's Writers" Program

Futures Writers Program by Qatar Charity
Qatar Charity announced the names of the winners of the fourth edition of the "Future's Writers" program, which develops students' writing skills. At a closing ceremony that was organized remotely, Qatar Charity celebrated and honored them and the program's sponsor and its partners. 

During the ceremony, which was attended by HE Minister of Culture and Sports Salah bin Ghanem Al Ali, HE Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education Dr. Ibrahim bin Salih Al Nuaimi, President of Qatar University Dr. Hassan Rashid Al Derham and CEO of Qatar Charity Yousef bin Ahmed Al Kuwari, 28 winners were honored out of 2,355 female and male participants from 287 different public and private schools, as well as from Audio Education Complex and Qatar University. 
 
 
In his speech, CEO of Qatar Charity Yousef bin Ahmed Al Kuwari said that the "Future's Writers" program consolidates its position as a pioneering national program in discovering creative talents in the field of writing, as it provides the necessary care for creative talents from youths and young adults in the State of Qatar, pointing to the quantitative and qualitative expansion of the program's activities, as well as its partnerships and achievements. 
 
For his part, HE Minister of Culture and Sports Salah bin Ghanem Al Ali praised this initiative, which he described as a dream that started years ago and had grown fruitful and beneficial for the people of Qatar, adding that the continuation of the program confirms its developments from a year to another, as well as the expansion of opportunities to provide the literary and intercultural arena with promising writers. 
 
He also stressed that the role of culture is not only to encourage children to read and write, but rather invite them to love writing and reading, which is why the investment in this new generation continues, as they are the builders of the future. For his part, HE Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education Dr. Ibrahim Al Nuaimi said that the winning students who were able to compete the challenges in a worthy way and compete with their families with honor and perseverance were the best model for the educated generation familiar with books, stories and novels. 
 
He praised all those who contributed and participated in the program and the winning students of their various academic levels who demonstrated their ability to present their best creativity and sophistication in eloquent Arabic writing. He added that this confirms the State's keenness to preserve the Qatari Islamic identity and the Arabic language in its various fields, especially writing and expression. 
 
In turn, President of Qatar University (QU) Dr. Hassan bin Rashid Al Derham praised the participation of hundreds of QU students in this program, which aimed to discover cultural talents and enhance the cultural scene in Qatar and the Qatari community, noting Qatar Charity's support for this program. 
 
The Future's Writers program includes a number of main stations, including the training forum and the final filtering after the competing students have written stories that promote the values of humanitarian work, and the confrontation with the jury, in cooperation with QU and the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, then the books of the winning students are printed and signed in cooperation with Al Waseel House for Printing and Publishing. 
 
The winning students in previous editions of the program are subject to a series of advanced training courses and workshops in the field of short story according to their age groups. Since its formation in 2017, the program has been able to discover and sponsor 63 creative student minds in the field of writing short stories who have been selected from the competitions that took place in the program's four seasons. 
 
Over the course of four years, the number of participants in the program doubled, as 137 students from 32 schools participated in the first edition, while 375 students from 55 schools participated in the second edition and 1,697 students from 259 schools participated in the third edition. 
 
In its fourth season, the program witnessed a qualitative leap to cover the undergraduate level represented by QU students, as well as the integration of students with special needs for the first time in its competitive activities, as 2,355 students participated from 287 schools of all levels in addition to QU.
