Qatar emphasizes the importance of better relations for the betterment of Arab countries
In light of the COVID-19, which has claimed many lives, His Excellency Deputy PM and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani stated that the ministerial meetings of the 155th regular session of the Arab League come at a time when the Arab world is facing a major challenge and potential breaches due to the ongoing discord.
 
His Excellency expressed the State of Qatar's gratitude for HH the late Amir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Kuwaiti Sabah's peace negotiations, which were continued by HH the Amir of Kuwait Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, as well as the State of Qatar's gratitude to all brotherly and friendly countries who contributed to the resolution of the crisis.
 
HE The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs has stated that the State of Qatar reaffirms its call for the international community to work sincerely to restart the peace process, end the occupation and settlement of the inhabited Arab territories, find a solution to the migrant crisis, and force Israeli authorities to refrain from annexing the land, seizing, and demolishing Palestina.
 
His Excellency affirmed that all occupation authority practices are null, void, and baseless, have no legal standing on the ground, and contradict all UN resolutions, reiterating the State of Qatar's support for all efforts aimed at achieving Palestinian national reconciliation, as well as its gratitude for the elections and unifying the Palestinian position in the face of terrorism.
 
His Excellency emphasized Qatar's continued support for the Palestinian people, noting that HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani guided the allocation of a financial grant to the Gaza Strip in the amount of USD360 million over a one-year period beginning in January 2021. This grant will be used for salaries and provide financial assistance to vulnerable families, as well as to manage power stations to prevent the worsening of humanitarian situations and difficult-staying conditions in the Gaza Strip, he added, urging all to keep delivering humanitarian help to the Palestinian people in order to ease the humanitarian problems and socioeconomic difficulties they face.
 
Regarding this matter in Libya, HE stated that the State of Qatar welcomes the re-election of members to the Libyan interim constitutional authority and hopes that this significant move will pave the way for a substantive political settlement that protects the Libyan people's rights and develops a state of law and civil institutions.
 
HE emphasized the importance for all Libyan parties to stick to the election date and work toward substantive reconciliation in order to realize the Libyan people's hopes for peace, prosperity, and progress. He praised the UN mission's actions in Libya to bring the crisis to an end.
