The State of Qatar has expressed its strong condemnation of the attacks enforced by Israel and settlement activity in violation of international law through demolition, destruction, confiscation, displacement, attempts to impose Judaisation of the city of Jerusalem, attacks on Islamic and Christian sanctities, protection of extremist Israeli settlers, continued arrests, arbitrary detention, and also the torture and imposing collective punishment on Gaza Strip.

This statement came in during a public debate that was held focussing on the situation of human rights in Palestine and other occupied Arab territories. The statement was delivered by HE the Permanent Representative of Qatar to the United Nations in Geneva Ali Khalfan al-Mansouri, at the Human Rights Council's 46th session.

HE al-Mansouri also highlighted on the vitality of ending the policy of impunity enjoyed by Israel and ensuring accountability for all those responsible for the violations committed against the Palestinians.

He mentioned that the significance of the 7th item being included in the work of the Human Rights Council, making note that the attempts that seek to abolish it encourage Israel (the occupying power) to commit more serious violations and crimes against the people of palestine, and push it to defy international resolutions and covenants and disregard them.

HE al-Mansouri also mentioned that Qatar calls on the international community to assume its responsibilities to end the Israeli occupation of all Palestinian and Arab lands, protect the Palestinian people and ensure their right to self-determination, and adhere to the principle of the two-state solution to establish an independent Palestinian state on the borders of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital.

He renewed Qatar's firm and supportive stance for the citizens of palestine and their just cause so that they receive all their legitimate rights.
