The Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy (SC) in a release on Wednesday said that people residing in Qatar are welcomed to be a volunteer for the FIFA Arab Cup 2021, which will be organised later this year.

The release stated that the tournament organisers – FIFA, the Qatar Football Association, SC and the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 LLC are seeking for vibrant adults aged 18 and above to support a variety of services, including spectator services, hospitality, broadcasting and media, among others.

FIFA Arab Cup volunteers will be able to get their complete training, tournament accreditation and a branded uniform as well. During their shifts, they will be entitled to a meal and can avail use of public transport.
All volunteers must be fluent in English, and having a fluency in Arabic is considered to be an advantage. They should be available for at least eight shifts, lasting approximately eight hours each, including weekdays and weekends during the tournament, which will culminate on 18 December.

Rasha Al Qarni, the SC’s Human Resources Executive Director, said: “We are looking for enthusiastic and dedicated people to support the staging of this historic event. Volunteers are a key part of any tournament – they help to create an exciting atmosphere through their engagement with thousands of fans. In addition, volunteers gain valuable experience and develop new skills – all while meeting like-minded people and helping Qatar to deliver a global event which will significantly help the country finalise preparations for the World Cup next year.”

“This is a great opportunity to be part of an international tournament and increase your chances of being chosen as a volunteer for next year’s FIFA World Cup,” he added.

Twenty-three teams from all over the Arab world will participate in the FIFA Arab Cup, with the tournament seen as an important opportunity for Qatar to test operations and facilities ahead of the FIFA World Cup 2022. Matches will be played at six Qatar 2022 venues.
