The Department of Meteorology reported that Qatar is experiencing very hot weather during daytime today with northerly light to moderate wind. It added that sea state remains slight and maximum temperature expected in Doha 44°C.

The weather official also noted that sea state is slight as wave height ranges between 1 to 3 ft. according to latest observations.

Report about the Tropical System in eastern Arabian Sea

Latest weather charts indicate that the tropical system in eastern Arabian Sea has intensified into a deep depression and lay centered this morning near latitude 15.3°N and longitude 71.2°E. The estimated surface wind speed around the center is 30 kt gusting to 40 kt accompanied with high waves. It's expected to intensify into a tropical storm by evening and move northward to wards Indian coasts. According to the regional center for monitoring tropical cyclones, it's expected to make landfall near Gujarat coast in India tomorrow (Wednesday). It's worth mentioning that a depression gets classified as a tropical storm and gets a name when the wind speed around the center reaches at least 34 kt.

Local authorities call on all members of the society to stay at home, only leave the house when necessary, and maintain social distancing  to ensure their safety against the coronavirus (Covid-19) disease.

It also urged the public to adhere to the compulsory implementation of wearing face masks and downloading of EHTERAZ Covid-19 tracker when leaving the house as hefty fines and imprisonment will be charged to perpetrators.
