Qatar Ministry arrests gang of seven for helping maids run away from sponsors

The Al Shamal Security Department has busted a seven-member gang that allegedly operated an illegal domestic workers supply service.
The accused were allegedly running the service with the maids they helped flee from the homes of the workers’ sponsors, according to information provided by the Ministry of Interior in a series of tweets published on Wednesday.
The gang, consisting of nationals from Asian and African countries, harboured the fled workers in different locations in Qatar and then sent them to new homes as domestic workers, the ministry added.
All the accused have been referred to judicial authorities for further action.
