Qatar Museums on Sunday revealed the name and brand of Dadu: Children's Museum of Qatar, the nation's first institution to offer children and their families a dedicated place for learning and growth through inclusive, open-ended play, exploration, and experimentation.
Conceived as an oasis of stimulating, interactive, and accessible indoor and outdoor experiences in the heart of Doha, Dadu will nurture children's development, inspire their curiosity, encourage collaboration and dialogue, provide the tools to fuel creativity and instill a sense of social responsibility.
"Dadu" is a word in classical Arabic describing marks made in the course of play or creative activity, from footmarks left on the ground to carvings on stones.
Commenting on the brand reveal, the Director of Dadu Essa Al Mannai, said: "We are delighted to unveil 'Dadu' as the official name of the Childrens Museum of Qatar - a title that expresses the projects ambition to imprint new ideas and ways of seeing, relating and learning. Dadu's learning and development model is grounded in child development psychology, brain science and practice. The museum will have a strong focus on instilling the values of creativity, compassion, generosity and responsibility."
