Qatar took part in a remarkable session of the Permanent Council of the Francophonie (CPF), which was conducted in Paris through a videoconference and moderated by Secretary-General of the International Organisation of La Francophonie, Louise Mushikiwabo.

During the event, HE Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the French Republic and Qatar’s representative to the International Organisation of La Francophonie, Sheikh Ali bin Jassim Al-Thani attended on behalf of Qatar.

The conference paved way to elaborate and find befitting solutions on the development of cooperation and coordination in the Francophone space, primarily through instigating the organisation’s improvement in stimulating the purveying of Covid-19 vaccines to the community.

Internal administrative and financial affairs were also some of the key matters discussed during the event, as CPF acquired the regulations regarding the links between the International Organisation of La Francophonie, International organizations and non-governmental organizations.

Geoffroi Montpetit was appointed as the new administrator of the Organisation which was completely agreed and accepted by the representatives of the member states, and espoused the decision to go ahead with the surplus funds for the year 2020 to the fiscal year 2021.

The participation in this 113th exceptional session of the Permanent Council of the Francophile by HE Sheikh Ali bin Jassim Al-Thani asserts that Qatar is indeed very keen in taking part in numerous events held at all stages by the organization, in accordance with the values of Francophonie, as the State of Qatar anticipates in partaking the next CPF summit in Tunisia, which will be held during the month of November.
