Qatar Partakes Remotely in Hannover International Industrial Fair 2021

The State of Qatar is participated on Monday via videoconferencing in the five-day Hannover International Industrial Fair 2021 with the participation of the world's largest production companies, under the slogan "Industrial Transformation".

HE Minister of Commerce and Industry Ali bin Ahmed Al Kuwari represented the State of Qatar at the official opening ceremony along with several senior officials and Qatari businessmen.

The participation of the State of Qatar in the Hannover International Industrial Fair forms part of the continuous efforts to point a spotlight on the investment fields in Qatar and the available investment opportunities in its industrial sectors. Additionally, Qatar's participation in the Industrial Fair aims at buttressing the distinguished bilateral relations between the State of Qatar and the Federal Republic of Germany.

Qatar's Pavilion organized by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry features the participation of about 16 entities, including Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Qatari Businessmen Association, Investment Promotion Agency, Qatar Development Bank, Qatar Financial Center, Manateq Company, Free Zones Authority, Qatar Science and Technology Park, and Media City, in addition to a number of private companies such as Qatar Industrial Manufacturing Company and Qatar Pharma, Coastal Company, Doha Cables Company, Qatari German Company for the Manufacture of Electrical Panels, General Switchgear and Lighting Industries, and Q-Bars Factory.

The participating entities at Qatar's Pavilion will showcase, via live broadcast platforms, the most prominent initiatives, projects, services, and Qatari products, promising investment opportunities, incentives, and privileges available to investors and businessmen to invest in the various sectors in the country. The exhibition will also highlight the leading Qatari industries and the latest technological developments in the industrial sector in the country.

 

The exhibition represents an important opportunity to exchange expertise and experiences, introduce Qatari companies and industries, open the way for creating distinguished partnerships between Qatari and international companies, enhance cooperation between them, and learn about the most prominent international experiences and the great technological development in the industrial sector.

Also, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, during its participation in the exhibition, reviews the advantages of the investment environment in the State of Qatar and sheds light on the laws and legislation adopted by the state to stimulate domestic and foreign investment, including the law regulating the investment of non-Qatari capital in economic activity, and the law regulating partnership between the public and private sectors.

The ministry also reviews the incentives and advantages that have been provided to investors, such as exemption of foreign capital from income tax for a period of up to ten years for specific investment projects in many sectors, in addition to exemption from customs taxes and fees when importing equipment and raw materials. It will also review the services provided to investors in terms of ease and efficiency of submitting investment applications, establishing companies, and completing transactions online.

Furthermore, the participating entities at Qatar's Pavilion will present many specialized presentations on the online platform of the exhibition as part of the page for this pavilion. The presentations will highlight the incentives, facilities, and investment opportunities provided by the state to attract more foreign direct investment, especially in the industrial sector, the Qatar Manufacturing Strategy 2018-2022, the law regulating the partnership between the public and private sectors, exchanging information, expertise and experiences, and the most prominent issues related to the industry sector.

The 2021 edition of the exhibition will witness the participation of about 1,800 exhibitors from all over the world, and several dialogue sessions will be organized on the sidelines that will be broadcast via live broadcast technologies with the participation of more than 1500 speakers, in addition to addressing a wide range of topics such as industrial automation, information technology, industrial supply, production engineering, services, energy, and environmental technology.

The digital trade fair enables the identification of the most prominent innovations, services, and products offered by exhibitors participating in their pavilions through live chat programs and live broadcast technologies available via the event's online platform, in addition to holding bilateral and business meetings by communicating with exhibitors.
