The State of Qatar participated in the ministerial briefing meeting of the Regional Office for the Eastern Mediterranean at the World Health Organization (WHO), which was held remotely today.

The State of Qatar was represented at the meeting by HE Minister of Public Health Dr Hanan Mohammed Al Kuwari.

During the meeting, the health ministers of the countries of the region were briefed on the latest developments in the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the status of COVID-19 vaccination, the update of vaccine production in the Eastern Mediterranean Region and ways of progress, in addition to the establishment of a working group of member states on strengthening preparedness and response to WHO Health Emergencies, and task force on sustainable financing.
