Qatar provides consignment of humanitarian assistance to Moldova

The state secretary of the Foreign Affairs European Integration Ministry (MAEIE), Dumitru Socolan, today participated in a ceremony on reception of a consignment of medical protection equipment on behalf of the State of Qatar, the MAEIE press service has reported.   

Attending the event was Charge d’affaires of the Embassy of the State of Qatar in Moldova Hamad bin Rashid Al-Athba.  

 

 

 

The state secretary thanked the Qatari government for the medical assistance provided, which includes, inter alia, surgical masks, protection overalls, gloves, visors, protection spectacles, etc. Socolan highly appreciated the solidarity and support gesture towards Moldova. At the same time, the Moldovan diplomat addressed words of gratitude to the high officials of Qatar, as well as to the entire team involved in the preparation and carriage of the humanitarian assistance, held within an international mission of backing medical employees. 

The two officials evoked a recent phone conversation between the foreign affairs ministers from the two countries. The sides highlighted the good bilateral cooperation relations, as well as the importance of maintaining and developing an active dialogue both on political and diplomatic subjects and on other sectors of mutual interest, including as to the management of the epidemiological situation and the needs of humanitarian assistance.
