Qatar Rail announces Metro services to recommence operating during weekends

Qatar Rail has announced that Doha Metro will commence its operation during weekends on Fridays and Saturdays from Friday, May 28.
As Qatar prepares to gradually lift the restrictions imposed due to Covid-19, Qatar Rail said that the Doha Metro, metrolink and metroexpress will commence its services on weekends and will run at 30% capacity.
Qatar Cabinet yesterday made an announcement of gradual lifting of Covid-19 precautionary measures, as Covid-19 cases have been steadily declining. As part of the reopening, Cabinet approved its reopening by stating that metro services and public transport services must not exceeding 30% of the capacity throughout the week, taking into account the closure of places designated for smoking, and not allowing food and drink to be consumed.
Since last month, the Metro services in the country had been working at 20% capacity on weekdays, in addition to the services suspended on weekends to restrict the further spread of Covid-19.
