Qatar Rail gives sneak peak into soon-to-be-opened Doha Metro Project

Doha’s Qatar Rail has released a sneak peek into the ambitious soon-to-be-opened Doha Metro's vehicles, routes and stations. The company is confident of completing the construction works by the end of 2018.

 

Lets give you some more detailing of the metro’s three different lines— Red, Green and Gold—which connect at Msheireb Central Station.

The Red Line:

The Red Line, also known as the Coast Line, runs for about 40 kilometres from Al Wakra in the South to Lusail in the North. It connects Hamad International Airport at Terminal 1 to the centre of Doha. The Red Line will have 18 stations. The Legtaifiya Station, which will allow passengers to transfer over to the Lusail Tram, and the 17 others that include:

• Al Bidda—interchange station

• Corniche

• West Bay

• DECC

• Al Qassar

• Katara

• Lusail

• Hamad Intl. Airport Terminal 1

• Qatar University

• Al Wakra

• Ras Bu Fontas

• Economic Zone

• Oqba Ibn Nafie

• Al Matar Al Qadeem

• Umm Ghawalina

• Al Doha Al Jadeda

• Msheireb—interchange station

The Green Line:

The Green Line or the Education Line runs from Al Riffa in the East to Al Mansoura in the West. There are 11 stations along this line, including:

• Al Mansoura

• Msheireb—interchange station

• Al Bidda—interchange station

• The White Palace

• Hamad Hospital

• Al Messila

The Gold Line

The East-West Gold or Historic Line runs from Ras Bu Aboud to Al Aziziya. 11 stations run along the Gold Line, including:

• Ras Bu Abboud

• National Museum

• Souq Waqif

• Msheireb—interchange station

• Bin Mahmoud

• Al Sadd

• Joaan

• Al Sudan

• Al Waab

• Sport City

• Al Aziziyah
