In some really good news, the State of Qatar has been ranked number one in the world for mobile speeds, as per test results by Ookla Speed Test Index.

The Ookla Speed Test Index said Qatar’s mobile Internet is the fastest in the world on average mobile data speeds. The results further show that average download speeds ranges upto 63.22 Mbps, significantly faster than the 23.54 Mbps average.

Meanwhile, Waleed al-Sayed, the chief executive officer of Ooredoo, congratulated Qatar on this feat and said his result from Ookla demonstrates tat the country is truly number one for mobile data services.

He added that Ooredoo has invested in making sure the country’s internet has the best coverage in the country so as to ensure everyone can enjoy the internet. 

The Ookla Speed Test Index compares internet speed data from around the world on a monthly basis. Data for the Index comes from the hundreds of millions of tests taken by real people using Speedtest every month.
