Qatar sends 420 ventilators worth $250,000 to Kyrgyzstan

Kyrgyz Health Ministry to distribute ventilators handed over by Qatar among healthcare organizations.

Qatar has sent medical aid to Kyrgyzstan in support of its efforts to contain the spread of coronavirus (Covid-19). The aid shipment, which was provided by Qatar Charity, included ventilators.

The shipment was received by the Kyrgyz Deputy Health Minister in the presence of a representative from the Foreign Ministry of Kyrgyzstan, and Qatar's acting charge d'affaires to Kyrgyzstan Jassim Saleh al-Jaber.

The Kyrgyz minister thanked Qatar for providing medical aid that included 420 oxygen delivery devices that will help save the lives of Covid-19 patients.

For his part, the acting charge d'affaires said that the initiative aims to support the medical sector in Kyrgyzstan to face the impacts of the coronavirus pandemic and enhance bilateral ties.

 

The Ministry refuted social media reports alleging the ventilators received from Qatar are sold.

The ventilators will be distributed among healthcare organizations by the Ministry of Health.

Qatar handed over 420 ventilators valued at $250,000 to Kyrgyzstan on August 3. They have been kept in the storage facilty of hte Medicines and Medical Equipment Supply Department, the Ministry of Health said.
