Qatar takes part in GCC Legislative Council presidents meet in Jeddah

Qatar took part in the 12th periodic meeting of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Presidents of Legislative Councils (the Shura Councils, Council of Representatives, the Federal National Council and the National Assembly) on Thursday.

HE Ahmed bin Abdullah bin Zaid al Mahmoud, Shura Council Speaker represented Qatar at the one-day meeting.

The final statement  of the meeting featured a number of decisions taken by the presidents with respect to the topics on the meeting agenda, including the recommendations of the symposium on ‘Localisation of Jobs and Investment in Human Resources of the GCC States’. 

 

The presidents of GCC Legislative Councils thanked the Kuwaiti National Assembly for organising and hosting the meeting.

The communique referenced that the leaders have been informed about the measures taken to fortify relations with foreign parliaments and parliamentary affiliations, and offered directions to keep taking a shot at strengthening the current ties. 

It brought up that presidents of GCC Legislative Councils have issued a judgment explanation on the US acknowledgment of Israel's power over the Occupied Golan Heights. 

The Shura Council Speaker left Jeddah after the gathering. He was seen off by Secretary-General of the Saudi Shura Council Mohammed bin Dakhil al Mutairi.
